Local Fashion Advisor offers tips for summer
Alexandra Evjen has helped men and women navigate the world of fashion, since it began in 2010 AVE Styles.
With his expertise in fashion, she helped write style shooting, choose outfits for flattering portraits of the family and to teach people how to make a complete outfit fit for any style.
"I just wanted to help, men and women feel more confident in their clothes," said Evjen, whose services include sessions in person and virtual styling.
More than two years after the start of the ADF has Styles Evjen over 1 million followers on Pinterest, an online tool that allows users to stay informed about the election and his manner possible. With these important questions like, her fashion advice.
Evjen dishes on his advice for the coming season, and what you should not be on the floats and how to be stylish, even when the heat rises to jump.
College Times: What are some must for the season for women and men haves?
Alexandra Evjen: Surely something in the coral and mint green - the warm colors of spring and summer. Denim color is really hot right now, and I think it will continue to be so for some time that people invest in any color of denim, if they have not already. A large maxi skirt to continue to be popular. It can be folded or unfolded, but it was chiffon, light and flowy. For men, I would say, boat shoes. Menswear is classic, it is formed and never really on the trend. Safe flying and skinny ties occur, but it's the clothes that fit your body well to buy.
Neon is always great. How can the integration of this trend into your wardrobe without looking like you're straight from the 80s?
I would like neon, neon belt especially Accessorize. These are very pops of color. If you want to make a bigger statement, add a statement necklace too thick.
As it gets warmer, which is a go-to accessory?
Oh, I hate the heat. I'll stick with my trusty cutoff denim shorts, they go with everything. But as far as only accessories that are cheap, there are so many big floppy hats that it could quickly a maxi-dress on a different level, or you can wear your swimsuit to the pool. Colour blocking is done, so that even with colorful shoes with a single set is a great way to attract attention.
What happens to have the pool as he begins this summer in style?
Your bathing suit is to be a really great accessory. The current trend micro door bra tops and vests skirts with Maxis, so your swimsuit can do so. It may be cute as a bra with a t-shirt, or put a crochet or lace up your swimsuits and shopping, this view of beach fun.
What trends do you see love now?
I am tall, so I'm talking really about the dresses and skirts Max Max excitedly. I like a shirt or oxford button-up and remove the tie at the waist. There is only one way of looking a little more feminine and show your silhouette, if you are winding it's flattering. I love bright lipstick. I think it is an accessory, gay and happy, especially if you have a big smile.
What trends do you avoid drawing?
I stay away from tops. I do not think they look good for everyone. If you are unlikely on a large body of course, but for the average Joe in mind culture. In addition, put a ton of jewelry. It looks cool for photos, but it does not work when typing on the computer or writing with a pen - it just does not. In addition, take the Neon Neon and eye make liquid liner. These are great for editorial view, if you do a photo shoot, but for everyday life is a bit much.
What business should the reader check out?
I love Frances [Vintage] in Phoenix. They have great accessories and clothing major. I'm also a big customer of Buffalo Exchange. I know this is a string, but I went to one of the [temperature] and the Phoenix campus and you can find things in fashion at affordable prices.

Fun With Fashion (Awards)
By RAY A. SMITH
John Waters didn't hitch a ride to Lincoln Center, Johnny Depp didn't show and Seth Meyers flashed the audience in his underwear.
The latter was but one of different types of flashes that occurred Monday evening at the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards, hosted by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, underwritten by Swarovski and held at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall.
The event, sometimes referred to as "the Oscars of fashion," and "Fashion's Biggest Night," brought out some of Seventh Avenue's biggest stars including Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Michael Kors and the Proenza Schouler boys—and figures from the entertainment world ranging from veterans Bernadette Peters and Lauren Hutton to rising stars such as Jessica Chastain, Zosia Mamet of "Girls" and Jessica Paré, the fashionable Megan on "Mad Men." (When Ms. Paré walked on stage to present the Accessories Designer of the Year award—the winner was Reed Krakoff—"Zou Bisou Bisou," the French ditty she memorably performed in this season's premiere, played, a nice touch.)
But one of Hollywood's biggest stars unfortunately didn't make it. Mr. Depp, this year's recipient of the Fashion Icon award—the first time the award has been given to a man—was on location filming a movie. That is one reason why Mr. Waters was present. The outré filmmaker accepted the award and gave remarks on the actor's behalf.
Mr. Waters, who often thumbs his nose at mainstream cinema, recently thumbed his way across the country for about eight days. "I didn't hitchhike tonight, we had a driver," he said shortly before the awards show started, referring to himself and Adrian Joffe, husband of Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo. The designer, this year's recipient of the International Award, didn't attend the ceremony either. Mr. Waters accepted both awards and gave remarks back to back, taking the time for a costume change between his speeches.
During his opening monologue, Mr. Meyers, the awards show's emcee, made a joke about fashion going together with comedy "like bar mitzvahs and Galliano," referring to the designer fired from Dior last year for an anti-Semitic outburst, to groans and uncomfortable laughter.
"That joke went so badly I'm going to get fired by Dior," Mr. Meyers rebounded, to applause. The comedian also ribbed Marc Jacobs for wearing a sheer lace Comme des Garçons shirtdress over a pair of very visible white boxers to the Met Gala for the Costume Institute last month. Later, Mr. Meyers walked on stage wearing an outfit just like Mr. Jacobs's, to raucous laughter.
Speaking of underwear, we regretted not asking New York Giants star Victor Cruz, dapper in a Calvin Klein Collection tuxedo, if he was also wearing Calvin Klein underwear.
In another kind of flash: For the first time in its history, the awards were scheduled to be digitally broadcast on Style.com.
And in other news, Tommy Hilfiger, the recipient of the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, apparently does wicked impressions, including of Mick Jagger, according to Anna Wintour, who presented Mr. Hilfiger with the award. ("Moves Like Jagger" played as Mr. Hilfiger took the stage; an a cappella group, the Princeton Footnotes, complete with a human beat box and clad in preppy Hilfiger letterman cardigans, performed a song for Mr. Hilfiger.)
The awards show moved swiftly, like a flash, leaving audience members with enough energy to head to several after parties, including the official one hosted by Swarovski at the Top of the Standard. ("Dance party!" a CFDA staff member tweeted from the party at 1:23 a.m. with a photo of a few folks busting moves.)
Monday night's other winners and award recipients included The Row, Billy Reid, Joseph Altuzarra, Tabitha Simmons, Andrew Rosen, Phillip Lim and Scott Schuman and Garance Dore. The complete list can be found on the CFDA's website.

A group of Arab investors is making a billion-dollar offer to buy investment bank EFG-Hermes from under the noses of a Qatari firm – in what would be the Middle East’s first-ever hostile takeover attempt.
Just as the Cairo-based bank – the largest in the region – firmed up plans to merge into a joint venture under the control of Qatar-based QInvest, investment professionals backed by an Egyptian tycoon and operating under the name Planet IB announced a bid to buy up all the firm’s shares, at a 30 per cent premium to its current price.

EFG-Hermes’ current stock market valuation is $873.9m.
Over the weekend, EFG-Hermes’ management rejected the offer, prompting Planet IB to appeal to Egyptian regulators to bar the sale of the bank to the Qataris.
Mona Zulficar, EFG-Hermes Holding chairman, said: “This strategic alliance [with QInvest] will boost the Egyptian economy with foreign direct investment of $250m and will play a vital role in restoring investors’ confidence in Egypt’s economic environment that has been negatively impacted by the recent political upheaval..”
The regional investment bank, which has seen its shares fall 50 per cent in the past year, was faced with fresh difficulties last week when its two current CEOs and a former chief executive were indicted on corruption charges related to alleged dealings with Gamal and Alaa Mubarak, the sons of Egypt’s newly sentenced ex-president Hosni Mubarak.
Planet IB’s investors say they are trying to maintain one of region’s premier financial institutions, and have lined up leading businesspeople, including Egyptian telecom tycoon Naguib Sawiris, to finance the deal. It plans to operate EFG-Hermes as a “universal bank with a fully controlled and integrated business,” a statement said.
QInvest plans to invest $250m in a new joint venture, called EFG Hermes Qatar, that will own a 60 per cent stake in the Egyptian investment bank.
