Reminder: Jezebel’s Third Annual Fashion Swap Meet is Thursday

Jezebel's Third Annual Fashion Swap Meet
When: Thursday, September 13, 6-8pm. The drinks are on us from 6-7pm.
Where: Randolph Beer, 343 Broome Street (between Bowery and Elizabeth)
How it works: Open your closet. Look in your closet. Reach into your closet and remove the crap that's been gathering dust, and
bring it to the bar on Thursday. Swap it for something new-to-you. Boom.
Just trade in one wearable item — clothes, shoes, accessories — and you've gained entry, free to rummage with reckless abandon
and take whatever you can carry. The more stuff you bring, the more rummaging for everyone (and we mean everyone: all shapes and
sizes, and you too, guys — all it takes is for two for a gentlemen's trade). By the end of the night, everyone wins: Your wallet,
your closet, the environment.
No RSVP necessary, but this is a first-come, first-serve sort of party. So we encourage you to arrive early; there's no such thing
as "fashionably late" when it comes to free stuff.

All proceeds and leftover items will be given to Housing Works, our Nolita neighbors who are committed to fighting the AIDS and
homelessness crises. You can also shop their annual Best Of sale, or go here to donate to Housing Works.
Not in NYC? Gah. But maybe try finding a clothes swap in your area — or at least recycle something on that day, and be there with
us in spirit.

After attending the events, Lauren later took to her website to let her fans in on her Fashion Week Diary, writing, “Today was a
total whirlwind… I started out at the Kate Spade presentation (which was adorable) and then made my way over to the Rebecca
Minkoff show (which was awesome). Truth be told, I am exhausted.”
Giving her opinions on each of the new collections, LC penned, “I absolutely loved the Kate Spade Spring 2013 collection. It was
sophisticated with a generous dose of playfulness and I adored all of the bright, bold colors and sparkly details.”
Miss Conrad added, “Rebecca is one of my favorite people in fashion and she’s a good friend too. The Rebecca Minkoff show was
great! I loved all the fun colors, prints and interesting silhouettes.”

Google+ Goes Backstage at New York Fashion Week

Google is expanding its New York Fashion Week offerings this season. In addition to streaming 30 shows live on YouTube, a 17% increase from last year, the tech giant is also partnering with brands to bring on-the-spot Fashion Week coverage to Google+. Beginning at 1:15 p.m. ET Friday, Teen Vogue beauty director Eva Chen will be hosting a Google Hangout on startup Lyst’s Google+ page before fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff’s show at Lincoln Center. Between four and five people, all pre-screened, will be invited into the Hangout to pose questions to backstage makeup and hair artists as well as Minkoff herself. Chen will moderate and also ask questions e-mailed in to editor@lyst.com ahead of time. Lyst will host another Hangout at 6 p.m. ET Saturday ahead of Tibi’s show. Chen will again moderate. In addition to backstage makeup and hair stylists, Chen will also interview Tibi designer Amy Smilovic and Man Repeller fashion blogger Leandra Medine. Since the Wi-Fi is notoriously bad at Lincoln Center, Lyst will be using an Ethernet connection from IMG to host the Hangout. Google staffers will be on-hand to help with technical support, a Lyst spokesperson said. Beyond the live Hangouts, Lucky Magazine editors and outside contributors will be uploading images to a live slideshow on its Google+ Page, and Vogue Paris is creating and sharing short, animated GIFs from Fashion’s Night Out on its page. Whether on Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, Instagram or Pinterest, you’ll be hard-pressed to avoid references to New York Fashion Week from now until next Thursday. The 12 Best New York Fashion Week Invites

We recycle. We reuse. Hell, we've even composted. Mother Nature lovers though we are (one caveat: We don't have that annoying disclaimer at the end of our signature), sometimes nothing beats the thrill of opening a thick envelope to find a card that's more keepsake, less a piece of paper. And, when it comes to New York Fashion Week — those seven days that make our mailman's biceps bigger —we've never loved the postal service more. This season, invites crossed our desk in all shapes and sizes (and not all made from pulp), from a plane ticket to a pink toothbrush to a poster-sized fold-out that's already at the framer. The designers who put a stamp on a Xerox with some Arial font, however? We'd prefer an email
