Sarah Jessica Parker says the fashion industry is "not sexist"
The actress and style icon Sarah Jessica Parker hesitate to other jobs in fashion, after a recent bad experience made him realize that sexism is still a widespread problem in the industry.
Sex and the City star refuses to show which companies it refers in Article Marie Claire, but says his short stint with the design house Halston, where she was set low as creative director of Halston Price heritage label in January 2010.
Carefully the ways with the company parted in July 2011, and now appears to be on his reasons for smoking light, suggesting that it was interested by powerful leaders of the other men who were only using his fame swept before brand.
'' I was there to help direct a fashion company for about a year (although I will not name names). I was shocked to find an old-fashioned attitude to women and business: women had titles but were treated as figureheads,'' Parker told the magazine.
'' So it was not to make any negotiation, but an ongoing negotiation clear that my voice was just as important, and that if they wanted me to be an active participant, it had to be an open discussion''.
The actress admits that she fight in silence, to seek out some advice from his representatives.
'' I called my lawyer and the agent at the time. But I'm not a little girl, I can not call mom and dad all the time. If I take the responsibility, I would like with the authority to treat it to me.''
But Parker insists the experience has taught them for future projects.
'' I would have been stronger.
