Fashion giant head to head
nternational fashion giant Topshop is planning a store of 2200m ² on two floors in the city to open, perhaps next to his rival Zara. Hawaiian Investments Pty Ltd has submitted a planning application to the city of Perth, which includes a first look at the proposed memory design for $ 8,000,000.
If it goes ahead, Perth could have the largest store Topshop equal in the country, eclipsed stores in Melbourne and Sydney.
The Brisbane store, expected to open in December, will be 2200m ².
Topshop Hawaiian and refused to give an opinion yesterday, but sources say that the British brand is the "international dealer" within the meaning of the planning application.
Hawaiian, which holds Carillon, plans the western part of the city Carillon Arcade, including the destruction of 35 stores to rehabilitate make room for Topshop. The proposed transaction is a facade of Murray Street Mall and extend through Hay Street.

WA Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive James Pearson said it was a great vote of confidence in the retail sector in Perth.
"With a record number of people in WA - about 1500 per week - higher than the rest of the nation and the highest average wage growth, it is not hard to see why international retailers Perth seen as an attractive market to provide," said he did.
"Zara and Topshop brings more competition and choice in the city of Perth retail market and new opportunities."
It is not yet known when the renovation begins, but are dozens of stores in western Carillon arcade closed or moved.
Dealer Daniel Grigg, who was recently moved two clothing stores Chime told her he hoped the fashion giant bring more shoppers to the city.
"I think it will be a real attraction," he said. "We need big names like these invest in Perth," Grigg said.
