15 Glamour Fashion Staffers Pick Their #1 Favorite Looks From New York Fashion Week
One more New York Fashion Week done, and a whole heck of a lot to process—now the real work starts for us! Every season though, everyone
seems to have an automatic standout favorite look. Here are Glamour staffers' picks!
My top pick was look #9 at Osklen. I loved everything at Osklen, especially the pointy toe, salmon skin (!!!) flats, but I flipped for the
photo-real sunset prints. Bonus, there was a lot of exposed nipple at this show. Nasty!
Executive Fashion Director Anne Christensen chose Altuzarra look #32: "I love the richness of the fabrics, the shape of the jacket, and the
bright blue pants. They would great as separate pieces too!
Fashion Editor Rachael Wang loved this Marc Jacobs look: "I can't resist a nod to punk rock. This look is absolutely ladylike in form but
worn in a such a fresh way that it breaks all those rules. It mirrors the climate of rebellion of the sixties which pushed back against the
conservatism of the fifties. The contrast is hypnotizing and surprisingly wearable."
"I loved look 5 at Calvin Klein," said Deputy Fashion Director Sasha Iglehart, "I love the stiff moire fabric. Made for a really structured
silhouette—so beautiful."
Accessories Director Gretchen Gunlocke Fenton, and Fashion Market Director Sarah Meikle both chose the same Altuzarra look. "Many times when
the first look comes out you can tell if the show is going to be a strong one," said Gretchen. "That was the case with Altuzarra's fantastic
show this season you could feel the energy right away. I love everything about the first look - the railroad stripes of the canvas
jacket/cape and the incredible boots! I just wish my legs were longer so I could actually wear them this spring."
Sarah adds, "Altuzarra #1, was one of my fave look of the season. I mean, A CAPE. I also loved the OshKosh stripes (which I wore everyday as
a child). Its a casual, cool, effortless look but with a menswear, workwear vibe that feels fresh and cool. The amazing gladiator tall boots
that are everywhere this season are an added bonus. I LOVE Joseph Altazurra."
Senior Accessories Editor, Maria Dueñas Jacobs, loved this Jason Wu dress: "I love everything about this dress- the fabric, the pattern, the
cinched waist. I just wish I had a red carpet event to wear it!!"
Emily Holland, assistant to Anne Christensen, loved this look from Proenza Schouler: "This print is so rich in color. The zig zag button
detailing allows your eye to move through the entire outfit. I love the high slit of the skirt with the high neck. Keeps the look sexy but
still sophisticated."
Senior Online Fashion & Beauty Editor, Megan Gustashaw picked this stripey look from Tommy Hilfiger: "I loved all of the wide stripes in
Tommy Hilfiger's collection and the slouchy silhouettes too. A double-breasted blazer and boyfriend jeans is officially on my outfits-to-try
list thanks to this look! So classic and cool."
