snow leopards and wild yak to "Fashion Victims"

Snow leopard, wild yak and other iconic wildlife on the highest mountains in the world and the great steppes to "fashion victims" of rising global trade cashmere, new research has revealed. Scientists have wildlife is preparing lightweight wool discovered at the edge of survival of "striking, but accidental" sharp increase in the number of goats driven luxury consequences. Herds of antelope eat the grass, which previously supported, donkeys and wild predators. Other problems were reprisal killings by leopards and wolves slaughter cattle ranchers after attacks of wild animals by shepherds and the transmission of diseases from animals farming for wildlife. "In the absence of a commitment by global and local scales, these iconic wildlife continues to exist as they have for millennia, has entered into an international team of researchers in the journal Conservation Biology." Rather than as symbols of success these species will be fashion victims. "The study showed that 95% of all food was consumed on the Tibetan plateau, Mongolia and northern India from goats, sheep and other animals, so that only 5% for wild animals. "You are really on the margins," said a member of the team, Charudutt Mishra Nature Conservation Foundation of India and a former winner of the prestigious Whitley. Under the animal world, the Przewalski horse, Bactrian camels, Tibetan antelope and Siaga be squeezed. "But it's not an easy question, because the production of cashmere does not benefit and economic development is important to local communities," Mishra said. "I'll take care of the snow leopard, but I also really care about these people and their livelihood., The solution is empowerment." Examples of small projects that have been helped, he said, to pay premiums for cashmere products of the established communities that. unable to attend snow leopard or poach wildlife, improvements to the coral, where the goats live leopards to prevent them and kill goats vaccination to prevent the spread of disease In Pakistan, an insurance policy for retaliation murder has reduced the animals snow leopard. Mishra said it was time, but not much to make such systems more widely, and to protect wildlife. He said it was not hard to convince communities of the need for conservation, "You do not have to preach, people see the intrinsic value." The United Kingdom is one of the four largest importers of Mongolian cashmere, a job that has become a multi-billion. In Mongolia alone, the number of domestic goats increased from 5 million in 1990 to almost 14 million in 2010. Ninety percent cashmere comes from China and Mongolia.

Michael Kors designs for mothers swap $ 125 jeans with girls

NEW YORK, USA - Marty Hamamoto would not have dreamed of shopping for clothes with her mother when she was younger. His own daughter is actually expected.

Hamamoto, 54, hits stores in Manhattan with 25-year-old Mia every two months. The last time Marty was about $ 200 in the closet of her daughter.

"Sometimes it pays for things," says Mia, "My teacher's salary, I can not splurge as much as when I with you And my mother told me. Whether it looks good, is too narrow, what shoes to to carry with him when I wear really up in the end. "

Boomer mothers are shopping with the girls of the millennium, to befriend their children partly in a way they have never done with their own mothers and partly look younger for longer. Leaders in the industry such as Michael Kors and Kate Spade take the opportunity to increase sales by superposition of younger species.

"I know the mothers and daughters who are fighting on the clothes in a way that only sisters before," says Kors.

As much as 9 percent of adult women said they shopped with the girls who are in their 20s have research telephone surveys Group of America, the women interviewed showed last year. This figure was 3 percent in 2007, before the recession, said Britt Beemer, chairman of the researchers.

Mother-daughter shopping "total" results in additional sales, said Jennifer Black, founder of retail research firm shares of Jennifer Black & Associates in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The mother is more likely to spend his daughter because she is with him, and the girl wants to help her mother look "trend-right," she said.

Buy friends

Women are also more likely to be buddies if they live together, said Candace Corlett, president of the New York consulting firm WSL Strategic Retail. Lived about a quarter of Americans aged 18 to 30 with parents in 2012, a proportion that has increased in the past five years, according to the Census Bureau. Mothers and daughters are closer than they once were, Kors said, Creative Director of Hong Kong, Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. young women, for their part, are now more willing to take on the fashion tastes of their mother.

"The idea of ??rebellion - which shows how you are different from your parents - seems less important now than when I was younger," Kors, 53, who works in New York, said in an e mail.

Rules of fashion for older women relaxed. In recent decades, mothers do not wear mini skirts, T-shirts or even shorts, Corlett said.

Clothes for girls

"It was this phrase, 'Out in the clothes of her daughter," she said. "That is, they attempt, like the young, what they do not see."

Kors aimed both generations with an array of jet-inspired products, cashmere sweater with rivets shoulder bags in the same store, he said. My Michael Kors Michael line focuses on accessible priced pieces like skinny jeans $ 125 and $ 120 robes, which are an important factor for the young clientele and a pleasure shopping for his mother, he said. His collection of designers become investment objectives, during his watches and jewelery are designed to appeal to everyone, he said.

The role Kors as an important promoter of ageless fashion is to work with investors, too. The shares have risen 25 percent this year through yesterday, more than the 23 percent gain for the Standard & Poor's 500 index consumer goods. Kors closed at a premium of 57 percent for the index yesterday on a price-earnings.

Nordstrom Savvy

The new line of expensive Saturday Fifth & Pacific Cos. 's Kate Spade brand debuted four months ago and have a stimulating effect similar to the Pink Label Brands Inc. The Victoria Secret, she said.

Mixed commercial, but not always fun. Tensions can arise when mothers and daughters not on what is appropriate wear disagree, says Paco Underhill, a founder of the New York-based retail consulting firm Envirosell. Beemer, who works in Charleston, South Carolina, says he can not discourage millennium dependent.

"When you get into your 20s, it's a little depressing," Beemer said. "Some do it out of necessity."

For his part, think Kim Anderson, 24, editor of the online magazine, it's "cool" that his mother Buffie, 62, carries on her during her monthly shopping trips to New York. Buffie said she did not mind paying the bill - about $ 300 for their most recent outing.

Chanel Shimmering City

A trip to Singapore Spring has given topic by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Couture show his Autumn - "The old and the new world," he said. The old man was a theater in ruins (built by Chanel machinists in the Grand Palace) and represented as a sparkling new galactic landscape in ruins.

Mr. Lagerfeld continued dialogue with the clothes - more or less successfully. Tweed sooty (or, more likely, embroidery resembles tweeds) and medieval robes were mixed with the surface of the new world and glassy materials. A closer examination often reveals a strange substance was actually quite a beautiful silk with small diagonal lines of silver sequins. The tiled panel of an evening dress in a straight line was, in fact, based on origami, with hundreds of small squares in colorful pleated chiffon silk. The strawberry an evening dress in black tulle was made by folding first store in Paris.

So the old leadership has given the new, and thus a kind of harmony that Mr. Lagerfeld knows how.

The clothes were immaculate, catchy, misleading. While rummaging backstage before the show, I stopped in front of a bright green woven tunic dress (or maybe embroidered, again it's hard to tell) in a nearly rustic texture with pieces of gray and white and dark green. The tunic has a wide neck and a small row of buttons in matte silver and discrete bags. We have seen this kind of Mr. Lagerfeld - the small shoulder tunic worn (this time) with a wide belt and thigh suede glove so thin they had to take place by garters. Later, when the coats and tops in the corridors of the decrepit theater Mr. Lagerfeld appear, they seem rather flat. But because I touched it and looked in and saw the colors very close, I can say that there is more than meets the eye.

But some of the proportions and shapes Day Mr. Lagerfeld need airing, it became a little monotonous. And I think it depends on too many new textures to give them new.

The gowns were usually large, silver or black with the strongest part cash, widow black tulle beads or micro-scratches on the soft, supple, delicate silk insect's wing.
